Fran Winant b.1943

Winant was one of the early activists in the Stonewall movement, through her poetry and visual art she helped define the role and sensibility of lesbians in the context of gay liberation and radical feminism. She was one of the founders of the Gay Liberation Front. She recognised the need for lesbians to shape their own identities.
